Disaster Relief
There are many ways to be involved in helping others
Hurricane Helene disaster relief efforts
are underway
An Emergency Response Team (ERT) trained volunteer crew from FUMC Dothan has been in Valdosta, GA, and we will deploy another volunteer team there soon. To sign up for on the ground disaster recovery efforts, please email Ryan Deaton at ryan@fumcdothan.org.
We are partnering with Boone UMC in North Carolina, where Ed and Alecia Glaize serve. Alecia was once on staff at FUMC Dothan, and their church has asked for donations to sponsor daily breakfasts for hundreds of people that they are continuously serving to the victims of the storm damage in their area. You may donate online directly to Boone UMC by visiting the following link: https://pushpay.com/g/booneumc
FUMC’s Children’s ministry is writing cards to send to the Boone children’s ministry and their newly formed emergency daycare center.
We are also actively collecting flood bucket supplies. We need donations brought to the church and our recovery teams will distribute them to communities affected by the disaster.
As always, you may donate to the church and indicate that you want your donation to go to UMCOR’s disaster relief fund or donate online at: https://umcmission.org/advance-project/901670/.
If you would like to write encouragement cards, please bring them by the church office. Pastor Elizabeth Hinton will send them out to be distributed to the affected areas.
Please continue to pray for those affected by the storm and those who are providing assistance.
God’s Peace,
David
